This week we have read a book called ‘Handa’s Surprise’. We looked at the real life fruits which Handa put in her basket for Akeyo. Some of us had a touch of the fruits and told the other children how they felt. We then talked about the shape, colour and size of them.

After that we had a go at painting the fruits, tiring really hard to think about the different sizes, shapes and colours.

Take a look at our excellent paintings:

When everyone had finished their paintings we got to taste all of the yummy fruits. We each had a look, smell and taste of them all and predicted what they might look like when they were cut open. We talked about different vocabulary we can use to describe the taste of the fruits.

After that we went to a table to record our thoughts about the fruits. We coloured in a smiley or sad face to show this.
