Last week was national coding week. We did a lot of activities in school to help celebrate.
In Upper Key Stage 2, Years five and six used Purple Mash to create a variety of games and animations, including quite a tricky game where the player had to dodge a bananna thrown by a monkey! We had to use variables, collision detection and if/then statements in our code. Another game involved using a mop to clean up spills in a bedroom!
In Lower Key Stage 2, Year 4 had a go at coding their own version of the classic arcade game Space Invaders, with a modern twist. Year 3 started to investigate coding by writing code to make a dinosaur jump and collect coins! We all had a great week and are looking forward to the new things we will learn about computing this year in school!
